The current global environment is described as VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous). This environment, characterized by rapid changes, dynamism, changing market trends, digital transformations as well as intense competition, is causing a lot of disruption across all sectors of the economy and society. As such organisations, public and private, profit and non-profit, must adapt to continue to successfully deliver value as they face everchanging regulatory, social, competitive, technological and stakeholder requirements.
Recent research and experiences enhance the understanding that resilience and adaptability/flexibility are must-have skills for both organizations and project professionals to succeed in this current environment. An Agile mindset can be a potential approach to become flexible and resilient as well as to cultivate high performing teams that deliver value.
The Zimbabwe Chapter of the Project Management Institute is organizing a 2021 Annual Conference with the theme, ‘Embracing an Agile Mindset! Delivering Value in Uncertain Times. The 2-day conference aims to discuss how organizations and professionals can adopt the attitudes that form the Agile mindset for strategic, business, project and leadership performance.

With over sixteen years’ experience in insurance and funeral services industry, twelve of them being at senior management level, Batsirai Simango has a keen career interest in strategic business management and leadership, business turnaround and risk management, operations design and management as well as investments and treasury management. Within the Nyaradzo Group, he is credited for being a key player in the business expansion drive which has been ongoing since the business formation in 2001. Batsi has extensive experience in product designing, risk pricing, designing service delivery models as well as capital budgeting and applying project appraisal techniques for resource allocation.
